?Ne:o was formed in 2003 in Dresden, Germany by David Friedmann, Sven Graupner, Gregor Gantert and Marco Sebastian Christ.  It was based on the idea of starting a project, where the way of making electronic music and the common way of playing music in a band could be synthesized into one, to allow them to benefit from each other.

In the summer of 2004 the band started to play their first gigs to an audience.  At the same time they released their first EP called ?ne:omuzic?, on the net label tonatom.net.  A series of nice concerts and a full-length album called ?musikkritik? followed.  It was released on tonatom.net again as a free download and on CD in December 2005.

In 2006 ne:o stopped performing live to concentrate on new material for a second full length album. Then in 2008 the guitarist Milan Greulich joined the group and added some interesting perspectives to the band`s previous sound.  Finally the lp ?illoj? was released in march 2009 on the netlabel aaahh-records.net.”
